Grading:
Homework (weekly 5-10 problems)
2-3 midterms
Final exam
I will give you at least one week's notice before a midterm. They will be roughly equally spaced through the semester but the first will be in the fourth week of class.
Homework will count for about 30% of your grade so please do a good job on it.
It should be neat, well written and turned in on time. Homework which is sloppy or late will receive “the treatment”. You may work together on homework problems but the write-up must be your own.
Homework papers which are substantially identical will not receive credit and those who turn them in may call their academic honesty into question.
Near the end of the semester you will make a presentation (in groups of three) of some application of Game theory from the literature or on some extension of the theory which we have not covered. I will hand out a list of possible topics before the first midterm exam.
Midterms will contribute about 30% and the Final exam about 30% with the presentation making up the remaining 10%. All exams will have a take home part and an in-class part.
You must attend class regularly to make a good grade.
